Elevating Mushroom Cultivation: Celebrating Mushvroom’s Success with Unicorn Bags

Happy New Year from Unicorn Bags! As we step into a new year, we’re excited to share the journey and successes of our valued partner, Mushvroom. Through the holiday season, they worked hard to fulfill rising online demands while innovating with products like nutrient-added all-in-one bags, capsules, and tinctures. Unicorn Bags has been proud to support Mushvroom in these endeavors.

Mushvroom’s Experience: A Testimony to Unicorn Bags’ Superior Quality

Mushvroom’s commitment to excellence led them to conduct an extensive evaluation of various cultivation bags. Their experience with other bags in the market highlighted significant challenges:

  • Challenges with Imported Bags: Mushvroom found that many Unicorn Bag alternatives were difficult to use in their operations due to their material and design. These non-domestic bags often had issues with size, air filter patch placement, and injection port design, making them impractical for commercial use. Furthermore, some of the sourced from locations like Asia, had defective filter patches leading to a high failure rate, while others allowed excessive airflow that adversely affected the growing conditions.
  • Visual Evidence of Challenges with Alternative Bags (see below): As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and quality, we are sharing some visual examples from customers who attempted to use alternative bags. These images, which you can find at the end of this post, vividly demonstrate the inadequacies of plastics used by other companies in commercial mushroom bag producers. One picture shows an “uneven seal” where the bag fails to re-fold along crease lines, making it difficult to create a reliable, airtight seal. Other images depict the consequences of using inferior bags, such as suffocation and rot caused by anaerobic bacteria, and ineffective “filter patches” that have zero air exchange. These real-world examples underscore the importance of choosing the right materials and design for successful mushroom cultivation.
  • A Clear Winner: In contrast, Unicorn Bags’ Horizon XLS-T bags stood out for their optimal balance of airflow and humidity control, showcasing their effectiveness in real-world applications. This reaffirms our commitment to providing not just a product, but a complete cultivation solution.
